Christine Flory
Christine was born and raised in Colorado. She is a graduate of the University of Wyoming with B.S. degrees in both Administration of Justice and Psychology. Before retiring and moving to Alaska Christine spent her career working in the area of vocational rehabilitation for persons with disabilities. At the time of the move she was the Executive Director of the Colorado Center for the Blind Career Service Center.
Christine has spent the last ten years in Alaska devoting her time to her family and their activities. She is married with two children, ages 14 and 8. She loves to work at her children’s schools. She enjoys the time with the kids, and finds herself when not at school, assisting with the management of hockey teams and gymnastic booster clubs. One of her great enjoyments is running science fairs, book fairs, and fundraisers.
Janice Trumbull
A product of the FNBSD, Miss Trumbull attended University Park Elementary, Ryan Jr. High, West Valley High School and UAF. In addition she has completed graduate work at Cambridge College and Multnomah School of the Bible. After 24 years of teaching at Joy Elementary, she retired in May 2009 to start Northern Lights Academy. She has taught General Music and 3-6 grades in various combinations. At her retirement she had completed 10 years in a 4/5/6 grade multiage classroom.
Miss Trumbull is a member of University Park Bible Church and serves in a variety of capacities there. She is currently the Board Secretary and a Sunday School Teacher. She is also a board member and accompanist for the Northland Children’s Choir. She has been a teacher/leader for People to People student travel groups, as well as one of the founders of the Fairbanks Student Travel Club. She currently studies voice with Marvilla Davis and enjoys musical/choral activities, reading, quilting, and a whole host of other activities!
